Yuri mangas are my amphetamine. The draft for this started on last year, but I finished it in 2018. I'm very guilty now. At that time, I wasn't sure what to read and came some recommendations of doujinshi of Love Live! It's not including all of the characters in Love Live!, just some of them, Eli and Umi. Besides this, I also read some other works not related to Love Live! too. {I divided the review into two posts} |
| Mangaka & Illustrator: Katakura Ako & tMnR Oneshot (26 pages) [COMPLETED] Year: 2017 Serialization: N/A Genre(s): Doujinshi, Romance, Yuri, Shoujo-ai, NSFW, Adult Read it on Dynasty Reader CyanBlue is published in tMnR's fanbook. You can't find it in any magazine except the fanbook. It's a doujinshi in shoujo-ai genre of Eli x Umi. I bet you're already guessing which "Eli" and "Umi" these are. When it's paired, it certainly goes to the Eli and Umi from Love Live! series and if you guess so, you're definitely correct {well I give you the hint before lol}! Rather than saying this as erotic work, I'd prefer to say it a tender one. It involves Umi's birthday as the main entrance of sexual activity they're doing and this birthday too is a hallmark of it. From the illustration side, it doesn't have any specialty. It's drawn simple, less background, focusing on the characters only with small bubbles for short dialogues. The thin line of character's drawing makes it smoother for the story to concentrate on Eli x Umi's relationship. It's a short doujin, consists of one chapter with 26 pages and I hope you're satisfied just by that. [RATE: 6.5] Mangaka & Illustrator: Katakura Ako Oneshot (8 pages) [COMPLETED] Serialization: Yuri Hime Wildrose Genre(s): Yuri, Shoujo-ai, NSFW, Adult Read it on Dynasty Reader Love Sign is another work also by Katakura Ako which is available on "Yuri Hime Wildrose Vol. 8". Such a very very short story with 8 pages of two girls in love and want to enjoy doing pervy stuff. The assertive one got asked by the dominant to start telling what she wants instead of receiving all of another party does to her. Caring dominant, eh? **PS: It's not S&M relationship, just dominating one. Apparently the manga might be done in a rush, its background is just too plain, character's expression is not much visible and done in consideration. [RATE: 5] Mangaka & Illustrator: Katakura Ako Oneshot [COMPLETED] Serialization: Comic Yuri Hime Genre(s): School life, Slice-of-life, Yuri, Shoujo-ai, NSFW, Adult Read it on Dynasty Reader The last work from Katakura Ako I could find in Dynasty Scans is about an unneeded child under the title In the Rain Shelter with a White Cat. It's hard to catch at first, the term of it. Simply, it's about an unwanted existence of a weird girl as protagonist who meets another weird splendent girl in a middle of nowhere. The art is plain, nothing special. Umm..it's out of topic but if you make comparison between this one and Love Sign oneshot, you can notice it's so similar. It's as rough and not-rounded edges like other Katakura Ako's works. I almost dropped this manga halfway through it when I began to see its potential of the story value in it. How the protagonist should deal with her self-concept of unneeded child and philosophically sophisticated with the weird splendent girl in black hoodie. [RATE: 7.5] |
Mangaka & Illustrator: Bou Siwa Oneshot (34 pages) [COMPLETED] Year: 2010 Serialization: Love Live! Genre(s): Doujinshi, Yuri, Shoujo-ai, NSFW, Adult, recommended Read it on Dynasty Reader Ayasex...?, doesn't it sound so provocative? The provocative title does a great job to balance its starting point to the end of the story. As the title portrayed in my imagination as a worthy work, it really is a GREAT job! The plot is fun and intense, a little bit longer than CyanBlue with same characters. In this work, {no offense to other works}, the bounding between Eli x Umi feels very real with more tricky part of Eli which is so honest in front of Umi and Umi's shyness like the real Umi in Love Live! series (but of course modified into adult content in this doujin). The illustration does good and my favorite part of the drawing itself is when it's the funny party like the characters turn into chibi or elements that emphasize the situation. As the author said in the Afterword session in which Ayasex is categorized as very mild content, it's very mild in terms of context for me, not for the illustration itself. What do you think of this? Have you read this one? Because if you haven't you should! [RATE: 8.5] ×『9.』× 【増原 紀花】 |
