Hungry of the intention to watch something dark, full of blood, thrilled, a shounen-like?

Straight talking, I fully recommend this series for you. Akame ga Kill! series (アカメが斬る!) is a way too cool series these days, apart from the school life, slice-of-life series which appear like grenades.

The idea of story is quite simple, centers around an organization~called "Night Raid"~,bears grudges for the dirty government whose goal to eliminate the tricky Prime Minister and save towns people. All of the Night Raid members hold "Imperial Arms", weapons created using alchemy and supernatural power from Danger Beasts extract. The show emerged with no mercy, and that's what the best. {My review will be based on the anime series only, not related to the manga version.}
This simple story can give you heart attacks for what you watch on your screen; blood, rage, loss, tears, destruction, and power. Along with pretty well-packaged animation when the battle is going to rip your heart out. What's lack here I think is the emotion, eerrr, it is hard to describe what I mean in words, but maybe the meaning is close to the development of characters which makes the "feels" of it lesser than expected. I can't blame entirely for the feels here, judged from where this anime stands as shounen-like, no wonder why mostly the story focuses on the problematic things resolved by violence.
With such great animations to please our eyes, the theme songs make it combo, spoiling either eyes and ears. In total of 24 eps, there are 4 theme songs, two for opening themes and two for ending themes, as a great complement for the series. The first half series OP theme is "Skyreach" by Sora Amamiya and the rest is "LIAR MASK" by Rika Mayama. Both of the OP give steady beat and feel so dark, while the ED themes are sweet, melodic, deeper meaning. The first half for ED theme is "Konna Sekai, Shiritakunakatta. (こんな世界、知りたくなかった。)" by Miku Sawai, and another half to the end is "Tsuki Akari (月灯り)" by Sora Amamiya. Tsuki Akari is my favorite song from this series, and also because its core is about Akame and Kurome (∘❛ั⌔❛ั∘).
Summary, I give the series 9, all in pack!
Pros:
- The battle, the Imperial Arms, the madness. Damn fit and worth to watch
- The picturesque, dark theme songs
- The characters. {note it, if I explain in detail one-by-one it will be spoiler, not a review lol}
Cons:
- The characters improvement is quite less
